Dear Friends, Do you want the best educational environment possible for your child? I believe Living Word Lutheran High School can and does offer that environment. Living Word Lutheran High students come from a variety of schools and backgrounds adding to the diversity of the educational experience. There are many opportunities for involvement in honors courses, sports, drama, music, and forensics. Most importantly, an educational experience is realized in a caring, Christ-centered atmosphere. Our seventh academic school year, 2007-2008, has begun with 162 students, 12 full time faculty and 4 part time (9 masters degrees). We praise God for the consistent growth of our student body and for the dedicated faculty He has provided the school. Our students come from a variety of locales. We are proud of our diverse population and the different schools, faiths, and communities they represent. Our theme for this school year is from Philippians 2:15 “Children of God…Shine like Stars.” Academically, we are proud of our early history. We have become a fully accredited educational institution. We earned North Central and National Lutheran Schools accreditation in 2006. Students have the opportunity to earn college credits at Living Word. The class of 2007 earned a total of 80 credits to transfer to their various universities. We have added two advanced placement courses for the 2007-08 school year, advanced placement world literature and advanced placement chemistry. We have had four students qualify for National Merit status. Our students have been accepted or are attending UW-Madison, Marquette, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Whitewater, UW-Lacrosse, UW-Eau Claire, Carroll, Hillsdale, Northern Michigan, Ripon, Missouri, Michigan Tech, Carthage, Concordia Wisconsin, Concordia Bronxville, Concordia Illinois, Valparaiso, Purdue, Berklee School of Music in Boston, and The Merchant Marine Academy. The academic rigor is here. We also include programs for those headed to technical schools, the military, and the work force. Study skills classes, one-on-one tutoring, practical application courses are offered to assist all students. Spiritually our focus has always been on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We try and emulate His servant leadership approach at LWLHS. Our mission statement proclaims that we mold future servant leaders for church, community, and family. A caring, Christian environment is here. Athletically we are participating in our third year in the Midwest Classic Conference. We already have 10 athletes participating at the collegiate level. As our school has grown so, too, has the quality of our athletic program. Athletic opportunities are here. We would like you to be here as well. I hope you will understand why excellence in Christian education can and does make a difference in the lives of all of us. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the school office. If you would like to schedule a student visit during a school day, please call. May God continue to bless you this school year. In His Service, Dr. Cary Stelmachowicz Executive Director
