WOLF PACK RUNS WELL AGAIN

BOYS

The weather may have been a chilly mid 40s at race time, but the T-Wolf boys runners showed that they are still turning up the heat when it comes to their races.
Seniors David Rutkowski (3rd – 17:49), who lead nearly half the race and Jon Buettner (6th – 18:16) continue to anchor the team. Zach Ziemann (17th – 18:54) and Johann Hinck (18th – 18:55) are closing the gap between the top two and the rest of the pack and soon will be up with the seniors. Caleb Aschebrook (22nd – 19:03) and Matt Rosenheimer (36 – 21:34) continue to cut down their race times and are allowing the back 4 runners to run as a Wolf pack.surging from behind. JV runner Garrett Stremski set another personal record, and will soon be 7th man on the Varsity squad.
The team’s next race is Tuesday, October 5th at the Burlington Central Catholic.

GIRLS

The Living Word Lutheran High School Girls Cross Country team also showed that they are also turning up the heat and vying for the conference title. They took second at the third annual Lightning Invite, losing to perennial state contender Sheboygan Lutheran as well as Milwaukee Lutheran by only 1 point.
Senior Taylor Brown enjoyed her best race of the season. Brown (25th – 18:29) continues to get closer to the young pack every meet and will soon be running among them.
The team was led by Becca Gosselin (4th – 16:31) with Stephanie Rutkowski (11th – 17:20), Lauren Weiss (12th – 17:24), and Katie Ziemann (22nd – 18:08) following not far behind. While the top girls continue to turn heads with their speed and poise under pressure the day belonged to Taylor Brown. Brown shaved nearly 30 seconds off her time and finally broke through the mental wall that had been holding her back. Equally impressive was JV Taylor Lorenz’s improvement who will also soon join the Varsity squad.
Perhaps the highlight of the day was beating Living Word’s rivals – Lake Country – on their home turf. In doing that they have shown that they are ready to take the conference title.
The team’s next race is Tuesday, October 5th at the Burlington Central Catholic.
