The Timberwolves football team found themselves in a position to take the Midwest classic conference lead on Saturday against fellow conference undefeated Lake Country Lutheran. The Wolves kicked off to a forgettable start though turning the ball over on the first two offensive possesions and finding themselves in a quick 19-0 hole at half. The Timberwolves came out firing in the second half with two Ben Rennicke touchdown passes to senior Kellen Batiansila. The T-Wolves cut into the lead and came within 11 late in the third quarter with the score 25-14. However, both teams failed to find the end zone in the fourth. Living Word could not capitalize on their final 3 possesions which ended in a punt, interception, and turnover on downs. The nightmare first half proved too much though against a good football team as the Wolves fell 25-14 to the Lightening. Living Word looks to get back on the winning track on Friday, 4pm, against Wayland Academy at Living Word.
