T-WOLVES MAKE GREAT STRIDES
The Living Word boys cross country team cruised to a fifth place finish at the Red Raider Invitational at Concordia University on Saturday, September 3. Outstanding improvement was seen in the new runners, but it was not enough to catch rivals Lake Country and Sheboygan Lutheran.
Zach Ziemann (7) 18:16 and Johann Hinck (12) 18:31 both medaled for the second straight meet. They shaved a ton of time off last year’s effort at this meet. Meanwhile, Matt Rosenheimer (26) 19:12, Caleb Aschebrook (30) 19:38, and Chase Uden (51) 20:38 rounded out the top five.
The boy’s were just 16 points away from the conference rival, Lake Country. Division 2 Milwaukee Lutheran looked extremely tough placing three runners in the top four. Their next meet will be Tuesday, September 14th at Sheboygan Lutheran.

YOUNG LADY T-WOLVES EMERGE ON TOP AGAIN
The Living Word Lutheran girls cross country team battled some tough competition at the Red Raider Invitational at Concordia University on Saturday, September 3. They finished first overall among twelve schools remaining undefeated this season. This was the first ever Red Raider championship for the girls in school history.
Early in the race the girls seemed to have been swallowed up by the nearly one hundred girl field. Then when they came out the field after a mile and a half, they were up front. Becca Gosselin led the way and took home the top spot breaking sixteen minutes with a time of 15:54. Next came Stephanie Rutkowski (6) 16:42, Lauren Weiss (8) 16:52, and Katie Ziemann (11) 17:26. Ziemann and fifth runner, Rachel Gosselin (23) 18:11, continue to narrow the gap between the second to fifth runners on the team. As they continue, they will turn into a very formidable pack. Emilie Wipperfurth (40) 19:52 surprised teammate Annalise Jasinski (43) 20:03 to take the sixth spot on the team.
The girls scored 40 points easily beating out Rockford Lutheran and rivals and 2010 state runner-up Sheboygan Lutheran.
