Two good quarters and two bad quarters is an easy way to describe the first round matchup for Living Word. The girls scored only 4 points in the first and fourth quarters as they fell in their first round regional game at Kohler 48-38. Tied at 19 at halftime the girls rallied to take a five point lead midway through the 3rd quarter. An aggressive pressing defense and Sarah Meinert's offensive prowess spurred the rally. However, the fourth quarter proved fatal as the Wolves mustered only 4 points on 2 for 14 shooting as their season sadly came to a close. Meinert finished with a game high 18 pts and Taylor Luce added 10 rebounds.
"This game proved to be a microcosm of the entire season. Inconsistent play at the wrong times. But with all of our youth, the future looks bright," commented Coach Stelmachowicz.
The team finished fourth in conference with a 9-7 mark and an 11-11 record overall.
