Living Word Lutheran will be sponsoring our Prom Friday, May 7th from 6-11 p.m. at Scenic View in Slinger.

Our Student Council works diligently each year choosing a theme, finding a sight, and raising funds for the prom. I thank them and their supervisor, Mrs. Ott for all their work to date.
This event is an exciting event for our students. Unfortunately, this event can sometimes be marred by poor judgment. Please help assist us in making Prom 2010 a safe and secure evening. We will supervise from 6-11 p.m. and then we turn the kids over to the night. What should you do? Here are some thoughts:

• Ask your child the who, the what, the where, and the whens of the evening.
• Make sure there is adult supervision every step of the way. DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING.
• You are not the “only parent” asking these questions. We all are, or should be at least.
• Follow through with phone calls to other parents about plans for the evening.
• And, by all means, DO NOT ALLOW HOTEL or MOTEL PARTIES.

The Bible tells us that “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  We all want the kids to have as much fun as possible at their Prom. I want them to glorify their God and praise His holy name by all of their actions. Let us all assist them in doing just that.

Here is another thought for you as we prepare for the end of another school year—1st Samuel 16:7 “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
