The Physical Education & Health Department, overall, aims to foster an environment stressing physical, emotional, & spiritual health as a way to care for the body Christ gave us.  Proper physical activity and health has correlation with improving academic performance, social behavior, and self-esteem issues.  Living Word's Physical Education department aspires to emphasize involvement and enjoyment in a variety of different physical fitness activities in order to attain and encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.  

Students are given the opportunity to compete and be active through team sports, individual & dual activities, and recreation activities.  They are challenged to live a life of wellness by being exposed to the study and participation in different physical activites, the benefits of healthy living, and current health issues.

Highlights of the Physical Education department includes an outdoor archery range, broomball & ice skating on frozen outdoor surfaces, miniature golf, disc golf, cross-country skiing, pickleball, paddleball, and many more. 

The Physical Education & Health Department is designed to:

• Be taken for two years, encouraged for a lifetime.
• Nurture an understanding of the vital importance of proper fitness levels
• give the students exposure to a variety of different activities as an introductory to a potential lifetime of activity
• Develop confidence and excitement for physical activity and health. 
• Give the opportunity to improve fitness levels while improving fundamental movement skills.
• Honor and glorify the Lord through the care and enrichment of healthy bodies.
