The Timberwolves survived a physical but exciting first round of the WIAA regional playoffs. The matchup against the visiting Kohler Blue Bombers ended in a 50-43 victory for the Wolves. Although the underdog Kohler team came in losing 13 of their last 14, they fought hard and had the game tied with 2:42 left in the fourth. The Timberwolves closed the door with solid defense and timely baskets down the stretch including a 10-2 run. Two seniors helped lead the way for the Wolves offensively with Kellen Batiansila scoring 13 points and hauling in 11 rebounds while Andrew Borresen added 13 of his own. The Timberwolves will host round two of division five regional play on Friday against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. The game is set for a 7pm tipoff.
