T-WOLF RUNNERS CRUSH PERSONAL BESTS
BOYS
    The Living Word Lutheran High School Boys Cross Country team made huge improvement in their times on Tuesday, September 13.  They placed an impressive 5th among 25 area teams at the Crusader Challenge at Sheboygan Lutheran.
    Top runner for the boys was Zach Ziemann (8 – 17:41) followed by Johann Hinck (17 – 18:06).  Ziemann and Hinck were the team’s two medalists and ran personal bests.  Also running personal bests were Caleb Aschebrook (44 – 19:03), Matt Rosenheimer (48 – 19:12), and Austin Meier (81 – 20:28).   The top four runners shaved off a total of five minutes off their last year’s times.  Other times included:  Chase Uden (89 – 20:46) and Zack Scherzer (125 – 23:16)  Meanwhile, in the JV race, freshman Shane Welter crushed his personal best and earned a spot back on varsity with a time of 21:15.  Not to be out done, Garrett Stremski broke his personal best with a 24:24.
    The team’s next race is Saturday, September 17th at the St. Lawrence Seminary near Fond du Lac.

LADY T-WOLVES HUNT AND CONQUER COURSE
GIRLS
    The Living Word Lutheran High School Girls Cross Country team continued to show why they are currently ranked #4 in the D-3 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, September 13.  They placed second as a team at the Crusader Challenge at Sheboygan Lutheran on among over twenty area schools.  The girls finished behind the current second ranked girl’s D-3 team in the state, St. Mary Springs, and ahead of rival and home team, Sheboygan Lutheran, last year’s state runner-up.
    The team was led by Becca Gosselin once again (3rd – 15:39) with Stephanie Rutkowski (12th – 16:27), Lauren Weiss (13th – 16:26), and Katie Ziemann (22nd – 17:04) following not far behind.  While all four of these girls broke their  personal records and medaled, the day belonged to Rachel Gosselin and Annalise Jasinski.  Gosselin broke 18 minutes (31 – 17:41) and Jasinski broke 19 minutes (56 – 18:42) for the first time in only their third race.  Emilie Wipperfurth rounded out the varsity with a 21:13 (106).  Equally impressive was JV runner, Jamie Heberer’s, climb back into varsity with a time of 20:20.  Korean exchange student, Ella Byun, battled a nagging injury with a personal best of 22:57.
    The team’s next race is Saturday, September 17th at the St. Lawrence Seminary near Fond du Lac.
