The last game before the Christmas break was a struggle for three quarters as the Timberwolves found themselves trailing by 6 at the half and 7 after three. But a gutty defensive effort allowed the girls to outscore Kenosha by a 14-6 margin in the final quarter to eke out a one point victory. Sophomore Chanel Stelmachowicz tied the game at 44 with 35 seconds to play and then after KCL hit one of two free throws the stage was set for the winning basket. The winning basket was scored by sophomore Taylor Luce on a nice feed from Sarah Meinert. Luce's basket made the margin 46-45 with only ten seconds to go and then a late steal by Stelmachowicz cemented the victory. Staunch defensive efforts by senior Julie Kohlwey and sophomore Kendall Meysembourg allowed the Wolves to get back in the contest. Luce's 18 pts. and 14 rebounds were accompanied by Meinert's 12 pts. Merry Christmas!
