Clubs

Extra-Curricular activities are highly encouraged at Living Word.  Clubs offer students a wide variety of areas in which they have the opportunity to broaden their interests, reveal God-given gifts, and serve through utilizing those gifts.  Clubs at Living Word include:

Spanish Club   gives students the opportunity to have fun while conversing in Spanish outside of the classroom, at restaurants, cultural events, and casually in homes. The Spanish Club is also a fundraising group, earning money to support a language-immersion and guided tour to Costa Rica, set for January, 2010.

2008-2009 Living Word Lutheran High Student CouncilStudent Council  allows for student representation and opinion to collaboratively work with administrators and teachers who are able to address student issues. The group serves as a liaison between students and administration. Additionally, they create opportunities for service of the Lord’s work, school discussion, and many other activities.  Events that Student Council has spearheaded include: dances, spirit weeks, school assemblies, bonfire, powderpuff game, Kids-2-Kids Christmas, Prom, and the School Walk-A-Thon.

Writer's Block is a writing club that branches off of the Creative Writing class. Living Word’s writer’s group, The Writer’s Block, meets periodically throughout the year, and welcomes students with a flair for poetry or prose to join. Writer's Block allows students to broaden their horizons in literary works, and share their gifts with others interested.
