Spiritual Life

What sets Living Word Lutheran apart is that everything we do is centered on Christ.  This message of Christ is spread in the classroom, on the athletic fields, in music productions, and intertwined into our campus life.  Students share and grow in their faith through chapel, service events, spiritual life groups, and having a Christian perspective in the classroom.

We desire our students to understanding scripture and to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. To this end, our students will have the opportunity to study the Bible and Christian theology in the classroom. They will also attend regular chapel services.

Because we believe that Jesus asks us to follow him in every aspect of our lives, all of our classes will be taught from the perspective of a Christian worldview. Students will have the opportunity to learn from teachers who understand how the Christian faith informs their teaching and their subject areas. Students will be challenged to find connections between subjects like science and literature and a Biblical worldview. In all that we do, we hope to show our students that the gospel powerfully informs the way that Christians live the whole of their lives.

Chapel Service

Faculty and students gather together twice a week for chapel where God's Word is shared in a variety of ways.  Chapels are led by faculty members, local church workers, and students groups, like BasiC (our praise and worship band) and the Spiritual Life Team.

Reflections of Christ Team

The Reflections of Christ Team (R.O.C.) is a service group of Living Word Lutheran High School students whose goal is to spread faith and engage the community through aid and fellowship.  They meet weekly for devotions and lead community service projects for our school.

MIT Bible Study Groups

We are expanding opportunities to focus on the MIT: the Most Important Thing. These are student-led groups gathering around God’s Word and sharing Christian Fellowship.

Our goal is to have these groups grow closer together and to Christ as they: Share (about themselves and answers to “life” questions), consult Scripture (about God’s will regarding the discussion topics) and join in Prayer (for one another in the name of Jesus). We will be meeting every Wednesday, following a “homeroom” bell schedule.

Wolf Mudder Charity Event

One morning of homecoming week each student traverses the muddy obstacle course around Living Word's campus with their respective Mudder teammates. Each team secures pledges in support of local Military veterans and their families.

Service Day

Service Day

Every year, we take a day of school for our students to go out into the community to serve local organizations, like the Humane Society, police/fire departments, elderly homes, and much more.  Service is a large aspect of how we develop our students into lifelong servant leaders.
