2020 Living Word Lutheran Auction
Be part of the Journey! Join us in celebrating 20 years.
This year’s auction will be new and different – we’re excited to celebrate our 20th anniversary! We hope you’ll be able to experience the fun in person, but you can also engage virtually throughout the evening via Facebook and have the opportunity to fund-a-need. Either way, we encourage you to participate in this year’s event, and support our fundraising efforts for the new school bus and other important needs of our students and teachers.
We’re changing up the typical format of the event. This year your in-person event ticket will have even MORE value! Given the current environment, we moved away from having a silent auction and will be hosting only a live auction and fund-a-need campaign. In addition, we’re adding new activities and games, including pre-event “experiences” and a post-event “after party” which includes music and dancing. And, our special guest, Lance Allan from WTMJ-4 will be emceeing our event!
To help celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’re offering a discount for alumni.

The Wine Tasting Experience
Celebrate the fruit of the vine! Join Tanner Schmidt to celebrate God's gift of wine. Enjoy a selection of fine wines and delicious hors d'oeuvres with us as we learn how better to appreciate some of life's simplest, edible pleasures. Five wines with carefully selected snacks will tempt your palate as we explore the wide world of culinary pleasures. Whether wine snob or complete novice, we can all learn a little something about experiencing that beverage that our Lord Himself gave His people to drink at Cana!
The Art Experience
Join art teacher Heather Oechsner for a fun board class! This quick and easy DIY process will result in a customized Wisconsin bottle opener board for your home, bar, kitchen, patio or man cave! Great Christmas gift idea too!
The Poker Experience
Gather round the card table for a quick tutorial from Kate Balsman and then jump into a round of Texas Hold ‘Em poker. Cheat sheets and tips will be available for novices from the kindly dealer. The highest chip holder at the end of the session will walk away with bragging rights and a prize!
The Scotch Tasting Experience
There's whiskey, and then there's Scotch whisky. Tour the land of Scotland with Dave Miskimen by visiting the most common regions of Scotch whisky production learning about what makes each region have it's own unique set of traits. Just so we're clear, we'll be traveling by glass and by "visiting" we mean sampling the nectars from the land of Scots! (Must be 21 years of age to participate)
The Dance Experience
Come to the Dancing Through the Decades session! This will be a time of fun, mini dance tutorials to learn and try, with some classic dances from the 1920’s all the way up to the crazy TikTok dances you may have seen online today. We will do some Swing, Hand Jive, Cha Cha, Disco, Salsa, and a bit of modern dance with LW Dance Coach Anna Krafft and some of LW’s Dance Team members! Come as a couple or single and enjoy this silly time to try out something new!
