At Living Word Lutheran, traditions and activities are at the heart of student life. Events like The Feast, Wolf Mudder, and Homecoming Week create lasting memories and build school spirit, while a variety of clubs, athletics, music, and leadership opportunities give every student a chance to get involved and thrive—inside and outside the classroom.
Traditions
Living Word’s traditions are the heartbeat of our school. From the laughter and unity of The Feast to the challenge and teamwork of the Wolf Mudder, these events create shared experiences that bond students together. They’re moments of joy, spirit, and celebration that become cherished memories long after graduation.
THE FEAST
One of Living Word’s longest-standing traditions, The Feast unites the entire school for a Thanksgiving meal. It’s a time to celebrate unity, gratitude, and fellowship as one big family.
INTERNATIONAL SUMMER TRIP
Every summer, Living Word takes students on a 13-day journey overseas. These trips immerse students in new cultures, unforgettable experiences, and adventures that create memories to last a lifetime.
WOLF MUDDER
Our annual Wolf Mudder challenges students with a muddy obstacle course designed to test strength, teamwork, and grit. While students push themselves to the limit, the event also gives back—funds raised support local Veterans.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
Kick off the school year with fun! Students enjoy games, food trucks, and activities as they reconnect with friends, welcome new classmates, and start the year with energy and school spirit.
SERVICE DAY
Every year, we take a day of school for our students to go out into the community to serve local organizations, like the Humane Society, police/fire departments, elderly homes, and much more. Service is a large aspect of how we develop our students into lifelong servant leaders.
T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY NIGHTS
These nights combine packed games with exclusive swag! Students flood the stands to grab free school T-shirts, thanks to support from local businesses, while boosting team spirit and showing their Timberwolf pride.
CATERED HOT LUNCH
Lunchtime is something to look forward to at Living Word! Our catered hot lunches feature favorites like Culver’s burgers, Firehouse Subs and Subway sandwiches, chicken tenders, and other local delights—a tasty way to recharge during the school day.
Clubs & Activities
Student life at Living Word goes beyond the classroom. With athletics, music, fine arts, clubs, and leadership opportunities, students can explore their passions, build friendships, and grow in faith—proving that even in a smaller school, there’s always a way to get involved and make an impact.
FAITH & SERVICE
Deepen your relationship with Christ and connect with others who share your faith. Join Bible studies, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, or the Reflections of Christ Team to learn, serve, and grow together.

SPIRIT & FUN
Bring your energy, show your school spirit, and have fun! From Powderpuff and Powdertuff to 3-on-3 basketball, dodgeball, 4-on-4 volleyball, dress-up days, and themed student sections, there’s always a way to get moving and celebrate life at LW.
Activities include: Ski & Snowboard Club, Summer TOUGH, Winter TOUGH, PowderPuff Football, PowderTuff Volleyball, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, 4-on-4 Volleyball Tournament, Themed Student Sections, Dress Up Spirit Days
