About:

I grew up in Michigan with two Lutheran school-teacher parents and three siblings, two of whom are also teachers and married to teachers! I attended Concordia University Nebraska, where I ran track and cross country in addition to singing in multiple choirs. Though originally planning to also major in Music Education, I graduated with my Bachelors in English Education and ESL with a minor in music. I taught for a year in Nebraska before moving to Wisconsin to be a state closer to my family. This is my seventh year at Living Word, and this past spring I graduated with my Master's in English and Literary Studies. I love reading, running around with the cross country team, spending time with my husband and baby, and being outdoors.

Favorite Bible Verse:

Matthew 11:28-30 -- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Why send students to Living Word?

The Living Word community is mission-minded, and our faculty and staff are so genuinely invested in the growth of these kids in body, mind, and spirit. I'm surrounded by people who go above and beyond to lift up these kids and be a little bit of Christ in their lives. I feel blessed to work in a place where people have a heart for ministry and combine that with the edification of young men and women. We aren't just equipping kids to go out and earn a paycheck. We are equipping them to go out and be a light.
