Students should simply try their best.  We use this placement test to help schedule them in the correct classes for freshman year. We do take into consideration that most students are taking this midway through their 8th grade year before they have been exposed to all of the content.  We do allow students to retake a test over the summer if we/they are unsure of their level of readiness for honors courses or need for remedial courses.  However, this is typically unnecessary since teacher recommendations and past grades are also considered.
